Child Safety ~ Play safe

At Adanac Blinds & Window Treatments, Children are very important to us.

The weather is getting nicer and many of us are opening our windows more and more to enjoy the warmth or to cool our spaces. We wanted to just remind everyone to tie up cords when kids are around. Here are some additional tips when thinking about Child Safety regarding window treatments.

  1. Keep cords tied up. If you have kids in the home we will automatically supply some window cling reminder stickers when you purchase from us. Please apply these to your windows, especially on the windows that the kids are around regularly. The purpose of these stickers is to serve as a reminder to you or a friend or family member that lifts the blind up. When doing so the cords get very long and put them in better reach of children. When someone lifts your blind the sticker is exposed and reminds you to tie them up. If you need more please let us know.
  2. To Tie Up Cords, use cleats that you can purchase at your local home hardware store.
  3. If your just purchasing your window treatments, consider products that are cordless. Some products have a cordless option such as Cellular Shades or think about motorization!
  4. Choose products with continues cords and use their tie downs to secure the cords to the wall.
  5. Keep furniture away from windows so kids can't climb up and reach the window treatments.
